You already know what a Friday in June feels like on Main Street. Blankets going down on the pavement by five, someone's kid running back to the car for a second folding chair, the band still tuning. What has changed this summer is what happens in the ninety minutes before the first song, and in the ninety minutes after.
Two restaurants opened inside a three-block stretch of downtown between February and last winter, and both of them landed at addresses residents had been watching for a long time. The concert series, the Sunday French Market, and the August festivals all still run on the same calendar they always have. The difference is that the pre-show and after-show now have real anchors within a two-minute walk.
What Just Opened On Main
Two rooms, two very different concepts, both within the concert footprint:
- MK Steak + Bar, 400 N Main Street. A neighborhood steakhouse from Joe Marino and John Kutrubis, the same partners behind Rebel Kitchen + Bar in Lombard.
